When I was on the plane on my way to Brussels, I thought about 1 thing I must eat while I’m there: chocolate. Belgium is known for producing some of the best chocolate in the world. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! As soon as the plane landed, I checked in to my hotel and started on a walking tour to find the best chocolate in Brussels. This blog will feature a few chocolate stores where you can find the tastiest truffles and chocolate treats in Brussels.
While I walked through Les Galeries Royales in Brussels, I stopped by Corne Port-Royal. Corne Port-Royal has been a key chocolate shop since 1932. They use only the best cocoa and finest raw materials which are selected for their chocolate making. Maurice Corne created the Manon-Sucre Praline. This chocolate is a permanent fixture in Belgium’s cultural legacy. I loved viewing the window displays. You can tell just by looking, that they are fine chocolates.
Next chocolate stop is L’Art du Chocolat on Rue de la Colline, 10. As soon as I walked in, I got to sample a few truffles. It can be overwhelming trying to figure out what chocolate to buy, but there are helpers that are happy to answer questions. My favorite part about this shop is the chocolate fountain on display by the window. I could’ve stayed there for hours watching the fountain drip with delicious Belgium Chocolate.
The best chocolate shop out of all the places I visited, is Gourmet Chocolaterie Belge on Rue de la Colline, 12. The reason why, is the variety of samples that they offer, and the prices are excellent. There are many different types of chocolates and different forms. They also include a variety of pre-packaged waffles that you can buy. The staff was very helpful. If I wasn’t too sure about a product, the gentleman would let me try a sample to see if I like it before I bought it. Unfortunately for me, there wasn’t a sample that I didn’t like. Everything is delicious in Gourmet Chocolaterie Belge! My favorite are the seashells and the orange flavored truffles.
Chocolate makes everything better. Brussels is a chocoholics paradise. Even if you’re not too crazy about chocolate, it’s a great gift or souvenir to buy for family back home. I had so much fun doing this “research” for my blog. I could eat Belgium chocolate every day if I could. I hope this blog helps you narrow down the many chocolate shops you will find in Brussels. Have you tried any of the chocolate shops I listed above? Leave a comment below.
