If you’re a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines HGTV show Fixer Upper, then you need to make your way to Waco, Texas. This small town between Austin and Dallas is where you will locate all things Magnolia. At the Silos, you will find everything you need to turn your house into the rustic farmhouse of your dreams. If decorating is not your thing, the Silos are a great way to spend the day browsing, playing, and eating. This blog will give you some tips on how to make the most of your day at Magnolia Silos.

The Magnolia Silos and Market are located on 601 Webster Ave. Hours are from 9am to 6pm. Parking can be a little tricky. The parking lot next to the Silos is under construction now, but behind the Silos there is a big parking lot that’s free. The first tip I have is to arrive early. The earlier you are, the smaller the crowds. I arrived at 9am and there was plenty of parking.

The Silos have a large outdoor space for families to sit and play or eat. The outdoor area is usually my first stop. There are plenty of photo spots throughout the area. Usually my husband and kids sit down, throw a football around or play a game while I take pictures. On weekends at lunchtime the food trucks are open and there is a variety of cuisine. I saw a grilled cheese truck, pizza, sandwiches, popcorn and a juice truck to name a few.

We finished exploring the outdoor area after an hour and went inside to visit the Magnolia Market. In the market I saw a lot of decorating inspiration in Joanna’s signature style. From decorations, cookbooks to coffee mugs and my personal favorite the “shiplap” t-shirts. I could spend all day browsing and shopping. The staff is so friendly, they give Chick-Fil-A employees some competition.

A visit to the Silos is not complete without stopping by the Magnolia Bakery. This was our last stop, because I knew we were going to stock up on a lot of sweet treats. As soon as you walk in, you are handed a menu card with a small pencil. I filled out the quantity of what I wanted to order. You must try the chocolate chip cookies and the lavender cupcake. The friendly bakery employee took my card and placed my order. After I paid, I moved to the pickup area. My order was ready in less than five minutes. The line can be long at certain times of the day, or on a weekend, but it moves very quickly.
We got back to our car and enjoyed the ride back home to San Antonio. Let’s just say half of the sweets we bought at the bakery didn’t make it home. Everything was so delicious and fresh! I hope this blog inspires you to take a trip to Waco and stop by the Magnolia Silos, Market and Bakery. Do you have plans to visit Waco someday? Leave a comment below.
